2-2 Itanium2 Processor and Heatsink Installation

When handling the processor package, avoid placing direct pressure on the label area of the fan. Also, do not place the

! motherboard on a conductive surface, which can damage the

BIOS battery and prevent the system from booting up.

IMPORTANT: Always connect the power cord last and always remove it before adding, removing or changing any hardware components. Make sure that you install the processor into the CPU socket before you install the CPU heat sink.

Note: To optimize the functionality and capability of the i2DMR-8G2/ i2DMR-iG2, we recommend that i2DMR-8G2/i2DMR-iG2 be installed in Supermicro chassis only.

Warning: The heatsink on the MRH-D chip has been pre-installed by the

manufacturer. Please do not touch it. Turning the heatsink in a wrong way will damage it and will void the manufacturer's warranty.
