UPC/EAN OPTIONS

The information below provides a brief description of the programmable UPC/EAN features included on the following pages.

Expand UPC-A to EAN-13— adds a leading zero to a UPC-A label which 'expands' the label to the EAN-13 data format. Selecting this feature also changes the symbology ID to match those required for EAN-13.

Expand UPC-E to UPC-A— expands UPC-E labels to UPC-A data format. Selecting this feature also changes the symbol- ogy ID to match those required for UPC-A.

If this feature and Expand UPC-A to EAN-13 are both en- abled, label data will be sent to the host in EAN-13 label format.

Expand EAN-8 to EAN-13— adds five zeros in front of an EAN-8 label. Data is sent in EAN-13 data format. Selecting this feature also changes the symbology ID to match those required for EAN-13.

Expand UPC-E to EAN-13— expands UPC-E labels to EAN-13 data format. Selecting this feature also changes the symbol- ogy ID to match those required for EAN-13.

UPC-A or UPC-E and EAN-8 or EAN-13 Two and Five Digit Add-Ons

Optional — scanner will read UPC/EAN barcodes with or without add-ons.

Required — UPC/EAN barcodes must have add-on or label will not be read.

Disable — scanner will not recognize/read add-on portion of UPC/EAN labels, but will read the main body of the label.

Price/Weight Check Digit — provides options for enabling price/weight check digits. The feature includes selections for domestic four or five digit, and European four or five digit, as well as the option to disable the price/weight check.
