If the unit detects a problem, one or more of the following messages will appear on the display.

		● There is something wrong with the unit. Contact our service

		● The document was not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the
	CHECK DOCUMENT
		document. If misfeeding occurs frequently, clean the document
		feeder rollers (p. 81) and try again.

		● The memory (telephone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been
	CHECK MEMORY	● The memory (telephone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been
		erased. Re-program.

		● The recording paper is not installed or the unit has run out of
	CHECK PAPER
		paper. Install paper and press wto clear the message.

●The recording paper is not fed into the unit properly. Reinstall paper (p. 15) and press wto clear the message.

●The recording paper has jammed near the recording paper entrance. Clear the jammed paper (p. 79) and press wto clear the message. Do not install folded or heavily curled paper.

	COVER	OPEN	● The covers are open. Close them.
			● The ink film is empty. Replace the ink film with a new one (p. 13).
			● The ink film is not installed. Install it (p. 13).
			● The ink film is not installed. Install it (p. 13).
	CHECK	FILM	● The ink film is slack. Tighten it (see step 7 on page 14).


			● There is no space to store new entries in the directory. Erase
	DIRECTORY FULL
			unnecessary entries (p. 23).

			● The unit has a document in memory. See the other displayed
	FAX IN MEMORY
			message instructions to print out the document.

			● The memory is full of received documents due to a lack of

			recording paper or a recording paper jam. Install paper or clear
			the jammed paper.

●When performing memory transmission, the document being stored exceeds the memory capacity of the unit. Transmit the entire document manually.
