Replacing the Toner Cartridge

You should replace toner cartridges whenever the message “TONER LOW XXX” appears on the panel dis- play.

TONER LOW xxx

RWARNING:

Do not incinerate spilled toner or used toner. Toner dust might ignite when exposed to an open flame.

Disposal can take place at our authorized dealer or at appro- priate collection sites.

If you dispose of the used ton- er containers yourself, dis- pose of them according to your local regulations.

Note

Before removing a toner cartridge from the printer, spread paper or some other material around the area you are working to keep toner from making floor dirty.

When several toner colors run out at the same time, a message ap- pears on the operation panel. Re- place them in the following order:

A Black

B Yellow

C Cyan

D Magenta

When there is no all color toner cartridges that you want to re-

place, you can specify the replac- ing toner cartridges. ⇒ P.47 “Specifying the replacing toner car- tridge”

AOpen the left cover.

BSlide the lock lever up.

CCarefully pull out the toner car- tridge.

A Hold the grip of the toner car- tridge, and slide it out until you can see the green tape.

B With your hand under the green tape, remove the toner cartridge carefully as shown in the illustration.
