To turn on the camcorder, first set the Power Switch to any operation mode except “OFF”, then pull out the viewfinder fully or open the LCD monitor. When setting the Power Switch from “OFF” to any other position, press and hold the lock button located on the switch.

Operation Mode

Tuning the Power Switch allows you to choose the appropriate operation mode among the following modes: Full Auto mode ( ), Manual mode ( ), 5 second recording mode (5S), Progressive mode ( ) and

Playback mode ( ).

Power Switch		Function
Position
	Full Auto:	Allows you to record using NO
		special effects or manual
		adjustments. Suitable for standard
		recording.
	Manual:	Allows you to set various
		recording functions using the
		Menus. If you want more creative
		capabilities than Full Auto
Position		recording, try this mode.
	5 second	Allows you to record in 5-second
	recording	clips to keep the action moving.
Camera	mode:	Enables shooting in Manual
	5S	mode. However, Focus and
		Exposure are the same as in the
		Full Auto mode, and it is not
		possible to change menu settings
		using the Select Dial.
	Progressive	Allows you to record moving
	mode:	images (successive jitter-free still
		images) with superior quality. A
		high-resolution still image can
		also be processed on a personal
		computer or can be printed out.
Playback:		Allows you to play back a
		recording, ☞ pg. 43 – 51.
OFF		Allows you to switch off the
		camcorder. After setting to this
		position, Manual Focus and
		Exposure Control are automati-
		cally reset to “AUTO”.
