LOAD A CASSETTE

First press PUSH-OPENand open the LCD monitor fully.

Slide OPEN/EJECT in the direction of the arrow, then swing the cassette cover open until it locks. The holder opens automatically.

Insert a tape and press “PUSH HERE” to close the cassette holder.

Press PLAY/PAUSE (6/4). The playback picture appears.

4 STOP PLAYBACK

Press STOP (5).

Rewind or Fast-forward the tape

Press REW (2) to rewind, or FF (3) to fast-forward the tape during Stop mode.

NOTES:

If Stop mode continues for 5 minutes when the power supply is a battery pack, the camcorder shuts off automati- cally. To turn on again, set the Power Switch to “OFF”, then

to “ ”.

The playback picture can also be viewed in the viewfinder

(with the viewfinder pulled out) or on a connected TV (pg. 48, 49). Camcorder operation is the same as described in this section.

You can also view the playback picture on the LCD monitor with it flipped over and retracted.

LCD monitor/viewfinder indications:

When power is supplied from the battery pack: the

” battery pack remaining power indicator is displayed on the LCD monitor when it is turned on.

When power is supplied through the DC cord: “ ” does not appear.

During Stop mode, none of the indications are displayed in the viewfinder.

Copy guarded tapes cannot be played back. The screen

You can adjust the speaker (or headphones connected to the headphones connector) volume by pushing the Power Zoom Lever.

If you want to turn down the volume . . .

.... push the Power Zoom Lever (VOL.) towards ”.
