BroadBandAccess Connect The name Verizon Wireless has given to a wireless technology that enables you to convert your smartphone into a wireless modem so that you can access the Internet from your computer. Also called
Device name The name associated with your Treo smartphone that distinguishes it from other Palm OS® devices. When you first synchronize your smartphone, you are asked to give it a device name. This name appears in the User list in Palm Desktop software.
Dialog box A set of options and command buttons that is enclosed by a border and that enables you to carry out a specific task.
EVDO (Evolution Data Optimized) A wireless broadband technology that is designed for very high speed data transfer with average download speeds of 400 to 700Kbps. It is capable of reaching download speeds of up to 1.8Mbps and upload speeds of up to 156Kbps. Also called BroadbandAccess for Verizon Wireless customers.
Favorite A button that provides quick access to a phone number (speed dial) or commonly used application (such as Contacts, Web, Messaging). You can define up to 70 favorite buttons in the Phone application.
HotSync® The PalmSource technology that synchronizes your Treo smartphone and your computer with the simple press of a button.
HotSync manager The computer application that manages the synchronization of your Treo smartphone with your computer.
Infrared (IR) A way of transmitting information using light waves. The IR port on your Treo smartphone enables you to transfer information to other IR devices within a short radius.
