Useful Information

Problem

I cannot make a call.

Cause/solution

RThe dialling mode may be set incorrectly. Change the setting (page 13).

RYou dialled a call restricted number (page 28).

RThe key lock feature is turned on. Turn it off (page 17).

Caller ID

Problem

Caller information is not displayed.

Caller information is slow to display.

Time on the unit has shifted.

The name stored in the phonebook is not fully displayed while an outside call is being received.

Cause/solution

RYou must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Contact your service provider/telephone company for details.

RIf your unit is connected to any additional telephone equipment, remove and plug the unit directly into the wall jack.

RIf you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a DSL/ADSL filter between the base unit and the telephone line jack. Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.

ROther telephone equipment may be interfering with this unit. Disconnect the other equipment and try again.

RDepending on your service provider/telephone company, the unit may display the caller’s information at the 2nd ring or later. Set the first ring to Off(page 24).

RMove closer to the base unit.

RIncorrect time information from incoming Caller ID changes the time. Set the time adjustment to Manual(off) (page 24).

REdit the phonebook entry name to fit in 1 line of text (page 19).

Answering system

Problem

The unit does not record new messages.

I cannot operate the answering system remotely.

Cause/solution

RThe answering system is turned off. Turn it on (page 32).

RThe message memory is full. Erase unwanted messages (page 33).

RThe recording time is set to Greeting Only. Change the setting (page 38).

RIf you subscribe to a voice mail service, messages are recorded by your service provider/telephone company, not your telephone. Change the unit’s number of rings setting or contact your service provider/telephone company (page 37).

RThe remote access code is not set. Set the remote access code (page 36).

RYou are entering the wrong remote access code. If you have forgotten your remote access code, enter the remote access code setting to check your current code (page 36).

RThe answering system is turned off. Turn it on (page 37).
