The riving knife must be adjusted to 3mm away from the main saw blade.

(% DISCONNECT SAW FROM POWER!

)% Move the blade tilt to 0˚ (blade 90˚ to table), and raise the main blade as far as it will go.

*% Move the sliding table all the way forward to expose the internal blade guard that covers the blades and riving knife.

+% Pull the internal blade guard away from the riving knife to expose the mounting assembly. (The internal blade guard is held in place with a magnet.)

,% Remove the upper blade guard.

-% Loosen the riving knife center bolt as shown in =`^li\,*.

.% Position the riving knife about 3mm or 18" away from the nearest saw tooth on the main blade, and make sure the top of the riving knife is positioned below the blade's highest point of rotation, as shown in =`^li\,).

0% Use a straightedge to check the riving knife align- ment with the blade. The riving knife should be directly behind the blade in the "Alignment Zone" area shown in =`^li\,,.

If the riving knife is not aligned, it must be bent into alignment by hand or adjusted at the mount- ing block, by shimming it out with shim stock or electrical washers.

('% Re-install the upper blade guard, close the lower blade guard, and move the sliding table back to cen- ter.
