TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING

NOTICE

INSTALLATION OF OTHER THAN GENUINE SOUTHBEND PARTS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY ON THIS EQUIPMENT.

The serial plate is located in the rear right corner (see Figure 1 on page 3).

Replacement parts (including parts not listed in this manual) may be ordered either through a Southbend Authorized Parts Distributor or a Southbend Authorized Service Agency.

When ordering parts, please supply the Model Number, Serial Number, Part Number, and Part Description.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem

Look for -

 

 

Not enough heat

– Low pressure in gas supply

 

– Restriction in gas piping and/or valves

 

– Misalignment of orifice to burner venturi

 

– Clogged burner orifice

 

– Incorrect burner orifice

 

 

Too much heat

– Incorrect orifices

 

– Malfunctioning or incorrectly set pressure regulator

 

 

Burner flame has excessive yellow tipping

– Obstruction of combustion-air intake on rear of broiler

 

– Exhaust gases blocked by objects sitting on top of broiler

 

– Low pressure in gas supply

 

– Misalignment of orifice to burner venturi

 

 

Burner flame fluttering

– Low gas pressure or obstruction in orifice

 

 

Burner flame lifting

– High gas pressure or air shutter on venturi out of adjustment

 

 

Slow burner ignition

– Pilot flame out of adjustment

 

 

Pilot outage

– Pilot flame out of adjustment

 

– Draft condition

 

– Pilot orifice clogged
