Logical Log File Status

Logical Log File Status
Youcan display the status of the logical logs through the Status menu, Logs
option, or by executingtbstat -l (lowercase L).
Thestatus portion of the logical log display contains two columns, Number
andFlags. The numbers are the ID numbers of the individual logical log files.
(Referto page 3-27for more information about the ID numbers.) The flags are
the logical log status flags. An example of the status portion of a display
follows:
Theflag display contains seven positions. Flags appear in the first, third, fifth,
and seventh positions.
Inposition 1, any one of three possible flags appears: A,F,orU.In position 3,
theBflag might or might not appear; in position 5, the Cflag might or might
not appear; and in position 7, theL flag might or might not appear.

Position Flag Description
1 A The logical log file is newly added. It does not become
available until after you create a level-0 archive.
F The logical log file is free and available for use.
U The logical log file is unreleased. In general, a logical log
fileis freed after it is backed up and all transactions within
the log file are closed.
