Change OnLine Mode

-k Option

The-k option is equivalent to the DB-Monitor Take-Ofﬂine option. Use the -k

option to take OnLine ofﬂine to reinitialize shared memory. Refer to

page 3-12 for more details about what happens when you execute this

command.

-m Option

The -m option is equivalent to theDB-M onitor On-Line option. It takes

OnLine from quiescent to online mode. Refer topage 3-9 for more details

about what happens when you execute this command.

-k removes OnLine shared memory and takes OnLine to ofﬂine

mode.

-m takes OnLine from quiescent to online mode.

-s restricts new access to OnLine but current processing can

ﬁnish. When all processing is ﬁnished,-s takes OnLine to

quiescent mode.

-u endscurrent processing and takes OnLine to quiescent mode.

The -u option leaves shared memory intact.
