MIRRORPATHspeciﬁesthe pathname of the mirror chunk where the mirrored

root dbspace resides. Informix recommends that this value be a linked

pathnamethat points to the mirror-chunk device. Refer to page 1-24 for infor-

MSGPATH speciﬁes the pathname of the OnLine message log. The message

log contains diagnostic and status messages that document OnLine

PHYSBUFF speciﬁes in kilobytes the size of each of the two physical log

buffers that reside in shared memory. Refer topage 1-35 for information

about setting the value of this parameter.

PHYSDBS speciﬁes the name of the dbspace where the physical log resides.

WhenOnLine disk space is ﬁrst initialized, the physical log must reside in the

rootdbspace. After initializing, you can move the physical log out of the root

dbspace to improve performance. Refer topage 1-25 for information about

setting the value of this parameter.

PHYSFILEspeciﬁes in kilobytes the size of the physical log. Refer to page 1-25

for information about setting the value of this parameter.

RESIDENTindicates whether OnLine shared memory will remain resident in

UNIX physical memory. Not allUNIX operating systems support forced

residency. Refer topage 1-32 for information about setting the value of this

parameter.

ROOTNAME speciﬁes the name of the root dbspace. Refer topage 1-21 for

information about setting the value of this parameter.
