Example

The illustration on the previous page shows the configuration for the modem to be managed remotely by a trap server located at 192.168.0.3 using a net mask of 255.255.255.0. In order for the modem to communicate with the trap server, both the modem and trap server must use the same community strings: trap community string set to trapit, read-only community string set to readit, and read-write community string set to writeit.
