The Glossary defines technical terms and abbreviations used in this manual.
| Access Provider | See Service Provider. |
| Access Rate | The transmission speed, in bits per second, of the |
| physical access circuit between the end user and |
| the network. |
| ADSL | Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. A method |
| of transmitting at different downstream and |
| upstream speeds. |
| Alarm | Any valid change of state from its normal condition |
| detected at an alarm point. |
