Connecting the scanner
A SCSI cable is supplied with your scanner.
Caution: For safety reas ons , nev er us e ex t ens ion c ables f or power cords .
Always make sure there is only one t erminator in your SCSI chain. You put t he dev ice
with the terminator at the end of y our SCSI c hain. Some SCSI dev ic es , s uc h as t he
external hard disk , hav e built -in t erminators and must t heref ore be plac ed at t he end of
your SCSI chain. Check t he doc umentat ion of eac h of y our SCSI dev ic es if y ou are not
sure whether the devic e has a built -in t erminator. The last dev ic e of y our c hain has t o be
terminated. Your SnapScan has no built -in t erminator. (For more information s ee

If your SnapScan is the only SCSI device to be connected to your
computer
1. Switch off your scanner and disconnect the power cord.
2. Switch off your computer and disconnect the power cord.
3. Connect the smaller 25-pin end of the SCSI cable to the connector on your
computer.
4. Connect the larger 50-pin end of the SCSI cable to the connector on your
scanner.
