6.5 Time Code Menu

For all TC- and related functions, the ARRIFLEX 535B must be equipped with the data cable ZV4 and the IVS must be in flicker free mode.

The IVS can insert the film camera´s time code into the video assist image to create a direct link to post production.

It is possible to insert time code, which is related to the film camera speed, e.g. 24 fps or a time code which counts according to the type of video assist (25 full video frames per second with PAL or 30 full video frames per second with NTSC).

Like all man-readable information, the data is inserted as a window on the monitor image. The window can be switched on and off independently. Background, position and character format can be altered without affecting the settings of other windows.

The adjustment of the white level of the inserted data, an inverse display and a fine adjustment of the vertical position are described in chapter 6.9

The frame information (the last two digits of the

time code display) is only active if time code is

actually recorded on film. If there is no time code

recording on film because for example the camera

is not running on a time code speed, only the

symbol ** is displayed in that position.

• Enter the TIME CODE Menu from the Main Menu.

All settings are immediately activated by changing them.

Check all settings on the connected monitor.
