Appendix B LDAP
This section gives you an introduction to LDAP and how to use it.

Introduction

LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is used to program
directory-enabled applications. It is a directory service that allows
people to locate other users, resources, services and information.
LDAP allows resources and services to be selected with ease and
accessed with location-independence.
Note: oLDAP works differently depending on the organization and what
the system looks like.
