MAC: (Media Access Control)

MESHED NEWTORK:

A network in which every node is connected to every other node.

MODEM: (Modulator - Demodulator)

A device which converts digital signals to analogue signals suitable for transmission onto an analogue network.

MULTIPLEXER:

A piece of equipment which enables the transmission of a number of channels at the same time over a single circuit. Most use data correction and compression.

NETWORK ARCHITECTURE:

The complete design of equipment, protocols, topology and transmission links of a network, and the way this design is implemented.

NETWORK TOPOLOGY:

This is the physical configuration of a network, how the nodes are arranged in relation to each other. Here are some examples:
