Difficulty Levels

All Sudoku puzzles have one solution that can be obtained by logic, without guessing. But they differ in difficulty based on the number of givens and the difficulty of the logic required to solve the puzzles.

When you start a game, you choose a difficulty level: Easy, Medium, Hard, or Extreme.

Starting and Resuming Games

If no game is in progress when you start Sudoku, you start a new game. Tap the difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard, or Extreme) to begin the game.

If a game is in progress when you exit Sudoku by tapping the Back button or Home button, the in- progress game is saved. When you play Sudoku again, the saved game resumes.

To abandon a game and start a new one, tap the Back button and then choose a difficulty level for the new game.

What You Can Enter in a Square

You can enter these numbers in each square:

Values: Values are what you want to enter to solve the puzzle. If you have a 3x3 square that already contains the numbers 1-9, except for 7, you would enter the value 7. Values are indicated in a font that looks like it was written by hand.

Notes: Notes are your notes about possible values. They appear as smaller, hand-written numbers.
