Screensaver Images

To use your own screensaver images, copy them from your personal computer to top-level sub-folders of the folder my screensavers. The names of the sub-folders are displayed in the Screensaver menu. You cannot place screensaver images in other locations in the internal memory, or on a supplemental microSD card. For more information, see “Files and Folders” on page 163.

Use one of the predefined screensaver sets Authors, Cityscape, or Nature, or provide your own sets of screensaver images and then choose a set in Settings. Screensaver images must have file types JPG (or JPEG), GIF, PNG, and BMP.

To copy screensaver images to your NOOK:

1On your computer, prepare the files you want to use as screensaver images. Collect them into one folder on your computer, or into several folders (for example, “beaches,” “mountains,” and “cats.” Give each folder the name for the screensaver set. If images are in zip/archive files, extract them. (You can also extract them directly to the destination folders on your NOOK.)

2Connect your NOOK to your computer. For that procedure, see “Connecting your NOOK to your Computer” on page 155.

3Open the nook drive by double-clicking on its icon. Then open the my screensavers folder.

4Open the folder on your computer above the one that contains the screensaver-set folder(s).

5Select the screensaver-set folder(s) on your computer and drag and drop (or copy and paste) the folder(s) to the my screensavers folder on the nook drive. The screensaver images must not be in the my screensavers folder, but rather in top-level subfolders.
