7With a finger, close the metal cover until it lies flat.

8Lock the metal cover by inserting a fingernail in the slot in the middle of the cover and pushing the cover toward the bottom of your NOOK. The metal cover only moves about 1/16th of an inch.

9Replace the back cover. Full instructions are given in “Attaching the Back Cover” on page 30.

10Power on your NOOK.

Changing microSD Cards

If you decide to change the microSD card in your NOOK (take one out you are currently using and put a different one in), note the following:

For B&N content in your library and personal content in your NOOK’s internal memory, you do not need to transfer it. It is not on the microSD card.

For personal content on the microSD card, you must transfer the content manually, using a USB connection to a personal computer.

To change the microSD card:

1Press the power button for 5-9 seconds to turn off your NOOK. Your NOOK must be fully off, not just asleep, to change a microSD card.

2Remove the back cover. Full instructions are given in “Removing the Back Cover” on page 28.

3Place your NOOK on a flat surface with the open back facing up and the top away from you.

4Unlock the metal cover by inserting a fingernail in the slot in the middle of the cover and pushing the cover toward the top of your NOOK. The metal cover only moves about 1/16th of an inch.
