The Daily

The Daily is a bulletin-board style message center. You automatically receive daily editorial content and notifications.

Read The Daily by tapping the daily on the Home menu:

When you visit The Daily, your NOOK retrieves up-to-date information from the data service, unless it has already done so within the last 3 hours.

Message Types

The Daily lists four kinds of messages:

Feeds: Also referred to as blogs, these are short pieces of writing.

Notifications: Notifications inform you about events such as special offers and lending offers.

Subscriptions: Subscription messages inform you about the delivery of issues of subscriptions. The number of new issues is displayed in a tip bubble on the Home screen.

Software Updates: Software update messages inform you about device software updates that require Wi-Fi or a web download and USB transfer to your NOOK.

Tap Show and then tap the kind of messages you want to display: All (the default), Feeds, Notifications, Subscriptions, or Software Updates.

Feeds

The Daily is where you receive issues of Barnes & Noble feeds. These include:

Daybook presents a digest of B&N review content and an article of the day. It can also include this day in literature. Did you know that on December 27th, 1831 Charles Darwin set sail on H.M.S. Beagle, a journey that he would record in The Voyage of the Beagle, and that would provide the foundation for his writings about evolution? Writing of his stay in the Galapagos Islands, Darwin remarks:
