
Software Updates
If your NOOK is not registered, you will not receive messages about software updates in The Daily. You can download software updates from the support section of the NOOK website, www.nook.com/support.
Software updates fix problems with the software. They also contain new features. Updates are required. You can find out what an update contains at www.nook.com/support.
Wireless Updates
Each time your registered NOOK turns on from fully off or synchronizes, it checks to determine whether the software it is running is the latest available. It also checks immediately after registration. If more current software is available and your NOOK can download it wirelessly, your NOOK downloads and installs the software. It displays a message that informs you that the update is occurring. A restart is a part of the update process. Do not turn off your NOOK.
Prior to downloading the software update, your NOOK determines whether the wireless signal strength is sufficient for the download.
