Time & date configuration

This page allows you to configure all aspects relating to time and date within the Wizard IP Plus unit.

Time and Date

Use the arrow buttons to set the correct current time.

Use NTP

When this option is selected, the Wizard IP Plus will synchronise its internal clocks using information from the (Network Time Protocol) server listed in the NTP Server IP address field.

NTP Server IP address

Optionally enter the IP address for a known Network Time Protocol server.

Set Time from NTP Server

Click to immediately use the time and date information from the listed NTP server.

Timezone specifier

Optionally enter a recognised timezone specifier related to the current position of the Wizard IP Plus unit. When an NTP server is used, the specifier will be used to provide the correct real time.

The timezone specifier takes the following form:

std offset dst [offset],start[/time],end[/time]

The std and offset specify the standard time zone, such as GMT and 0, or CET and -1, or EST and 5, respectively.

The dst string and [offset] specify the name and offset for the corresponding Daylight Saving Time zone; if the offset is omitted, it defaults to one hour ahead of standard time.

The remainder of the specification describes when Daylight Saving Time is in effect. The start field is when Daylight Saving Time goes into effect and the end field is when the change is made back to standard time. The most common format used for the daylight saving time is: Mm.w.d

Where: m specifies the month and must be between 1 and 12. The day d must be between 0 (Sunday) and 6. The week w must be between 1 and

5; week 1 is the first week in which day d occurs, and week 5 specifies the last d day in the month.

The time fields specify when, in the local time currently in effect, the change to the other time occurs. If omitted, the default is 02:00:00.

Typical examples are:

UK:

GMT0BST,M3.5.0/1,M10.5.0/2

Central Europe:

CET-1CEST,M3.5.0/2,M10.5.0/3

US Eastern (2006):

EST5EDT,M4.1.0/2,M10.5.0/2

US Pacific (2006):

PST8PDT,M4.1.0/2,M10.5.0/2

US Eastern (from 2007):

EST5EDT,M3.2.0/2,M11.1.0/2

US Pacific (from 2007): PST5PDT,M3.2.0/2,M11.1.0/2
