Divar Installation Manual Introduction

a web browser on a PC can be used to view live images or playback recordings from a Divar. The PC-based Configuration Tool facilitates the setup of the unit.

ATM/POS transaction data can be recorded and viewed if the Divar is connected to an ATM or POS device via an ATM/POS bridge unit and has a license installed.

Looping auto-terminating video inputs, video outputs, alarm inputs and outputs, and remote control connectors are on the rear panel. The two monitor outputs provide CVBS video signals in either NTSC or PAL. Monitor A displays full- screen or multiscreen digital pictures that can be frozen and zoomed. Monitor B displays live full-screen pictures.

Versions

There are various Divar models; 6-channel, 9-channel and 16-channel, each with various storage capacities. In addition, a Divar can have one or both of the following:

•An internal DVD writer

•Bilinx-enabled camera inputs

A Divar with an internal DVD writer allows you to make archives locally without the need for a PC. The writer supports DVD+RW, DVD+R, CD-R and CD-RW media.

A Divar Bilinx supports the use of Bilinx cameras. Bilinx technology embeds control commands in the video signal enabling direct camera access and control through a single video coaxial cable.

This manual describes the 16-channel version with an internal DVD writer and Bilinx-enabled camera inputs.

Both 6-channel and 9-channel versions operate in exactly the same way except that fewer cameras can be connected, there are fewer camera keys and the number of multiscreen views is reduced. Instructions that only apply to the internal DVD writer or Bilinx functionality are indicated by a double (**) or

triple (***) asterix respectively. If your unit has neither of these facilities, then please skip these instructions.
