The default settings are CODE 39 TYPE, MEDIUM WIDTH, UNDER# set to ON, and

CHECK DIGIT set to OFF.

NOTE

☞It is recommended that barcodes be printed with the barcode WIDTH parameter set to at least SMALL, otherwise barcodes may be diffi- cult to read.

☞The CHECK DIGIT parameter is only available with the CODE 39, I-2/5and CODABAR types.

To enter the barcode data:

1Rotate runtil BARCODE is displayed, and then press r (OR hold down d and press i).

NOTE

☞To change the data or parameters of a barcode that has already been added to the text, position the cursor below the right half of the barcode

mark ( ) before rotating r to select BAR- CODE and pressing r(OR holding down d and pressing i).

☞To quit the Barcode function without adding a barcode, press eat any time (OR hold down dand press i).

4Press jor kuntil the parameter that you want to change is displayed.

NOTE

☞To select the default setting, press the space bar.

☞To return to the barcode data without changing any parameters, press e (OR hold down dand press i).

5Rotate r (OR press m or g) until the desired setting is displayed.

6Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all parameters are set as you wish.

7Press r(OR press n).

To add special characters to barcodes (only with types CODE39, CODABAR, EAN128 or CODE128):

8Press jor kuntil the cursor is below the character immediately to the right of where you want to add the special character.

9Press s.
