This chapter describes how to use the system management interface tool (SMIT) to
manage your SSARAID arrays. The SMIT provides a set of menus from which you can
select the various functions of the ssaraid command. The ssaraid command allows
you to create, delete, and manage your RAID arrays.
If you prefer to use the ssaraid command through the command line interface instead
of through the menus, see Chapter12, “Using the SSA Command Line Interface for
RAID Configurations”. If you want to use the SMIT menus, remain in this chapter . Help
information is available from each SMIT menu.
This chapter has three main parts:
v“Installing and Configuring SSARAID Arrays”on page 58
v“Dealing with RAIDArray Problems”on page89
v“Using Other Configuration Functions”on page 97
Note: If you select a List function from a SMIT menu, and no resource of the required
type exists, the following error pop-up window might be displayed:
Change Member Disks in an SSA RAID Array
Move cursor to desired item and press Enter.
Remove a Disk from an SSA RAID Array
Add a Disk to an SSA RAID Array
Swap Members of an SSA RAID Array
