Example 4: Copying a Complete Volume Group and Recreating the Copy onAnother Using System
In this example, you are copying a complete volume group, then recreating the copy on
another using system.
1. On the original using system, give the commands:
ssa_make_copy -P -v vgname
ssa_make_copy -U -v vgname
Amessage is displayed; for example:
Copy Array
hdiskx 014639AB30DC0T
Uncouple completed successfully
2. On the using system where you want to recreate the copy:
a. Run the cfgmgr command to configure the new hdisks.
b. Give the command:
ssaraid -Il ssan -n serial_number -z
where serial_number is the serial number of the RAID-Copy array hdisk: for
example, 014639AB30DC0T.
Amessage is displayed; for example:
hdiskx 0146392AB30DC0T good 4.5GB RAID Copy array
c. Torecreate the copy, give the command:
ssa_make_copy -R -d hdiskx
If you need multiple hdisks to recreate the copy,give the command:
ssa_make_copy -R -d hdiskx -d hdisky
