Setup menu

Digital Audio

1Press [SETUP].

2Use [œ/] to select ‘Preferences‘.

3Whilst ‘Preferences‘ is selected, press [] to select ‘Digital Audio‘.

4Use [œ/] to select the desired digital output type.

5Press [SETUP] to exit the menu.

Off

No signal will be output from the Digital Audio Out jacks.

PCM

Select when connected to a 2 channel digital stereo amplifier. The DVB-T VCR/DVD Recorder's digital audio signal will be output in the PCM 2ch (Pulse Code Modulation 2 Channel) format when you play a DVD recorded with a Dolby Digital (only for DVD) or MPEG soundtrack. If the DVD is recorded with a DTS (Digital Theatre Surround) sound track then no sound will be heard.

Bitstream

If your DVD is recorded with a DTS sound track then select Bitstream when connected to a Dolby Digital or DTS decoder (or an amplifier or other equipment with a Dolby Digital or DTS decoder).

Video Output

Progressive Scan Video provides the highest picture quality with reduced flickering.

RGB : If the DVB-T VCR/DVD Recorder is in RGB mode, you can watch RGB signal by connecting the recorder to an analogue television using the SCART jacks.

Interlace (576i) or Progressive (576p) : If you connect the DVB-T VCR/DVD Recorder to a digital television (DTV) or Monitor using the COMPONENT jacks, set Video Output to ‘576i’ or ‘576p’ (i : Interlaced scan mode, p : Progressive scan mode).

2Use [œ/] to select ‘Preferences‘.

3While ‘Preferences‘ is selected, press [] to select ‘Video Output‘.

4Use [œ/] to select the desired Video Output mode.

5Press [SETUP] to exit the menu.

When you use the HDMI connection, you can change the resolution (576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i) for the HDMI output by setting the video output option in setup menu.
