Installing Memory Modules CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician.
Youshould only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in
yourproduct documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service
andsupport team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not
covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came
withthe product.

Locate the memory module sockets. See Figure5-3.

Press the ejectors on the memory module socket down and out, as shown
in Figure3-10, to allow the memory module to be inserted into the socket.
Handle each memory module only on either card edge, making sure not to
touch the middle of the memory module.

Align the memory module's edge connector with the alignment key of the
memory module socket, and insert the memory module in the socket.
