Opening and Closing the System WARNING: Whenever you need to lift the system, get others to assist you.
Toavoid injury, do not attempt to lift the system by yourself.
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician.
Youshould only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in
yourproduct documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service
andsupport team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not
covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came
withthe product.
Opening the System

Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect
the system from its electrical outlet.

Remove the two securing screws on the top of the system. See Figure3-5.

Press down the locking button.

Grasp the cover on both the sides with your palm on the traction pad, slide
out and lift the cover away from the system.
