1Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.

2Open the system. See "Opening the System."

3Remove the cooling shroud. See "Removing the Cooling Shroud."

4Locate the memory module sockets. See Figure 6-2.

5Press outward on the memory module ejectors to allow the memory module to be inserted into the socket. See Figure 3-30.

CAUTION: Handle each memory module only by the card edges, ensuring not to touch the components on the module.

6Align the memory module's edge connector with the alignment key of the memory module socket, and insert the memory module in the socket.

NOTE: The memory module socket has an alignment key that allows you to install the memory module in the socket in only one way.

7Press down on the memory module with your thumbs until the ejectors lock into position. See Figure 3-30.
