Care and Maintenance
Safety Precautions
To ensure a long life of continuous use for your scanner, please be sure to take the following precautions:
∙Be sure to turn off and unplug the computer when plugging the scanner cord into the printer port (parallel port). Failure to do so can result in serious damage to the computer.
∙Always keep the scanner on a firm, level surface.
∙If you need to transport the scanner over long distances, make sure and

∙Do not install the scanner in a humid or dusty place, nor in a place where vibrations might occur.
∙To ensure proper ventilation, allow at least two inches (5 cm) free space around each side of the scanner, and four inches (10 cm) at the back of the scanner.
