Application
Any word processing, graphics, or other special program t hat can be
installed in your computer's memory. WordPerfect, Adobe Illust rator, Lotus
1-2-3, and Microsoft Word are examples of applications.
ASCII
American Standard Code for Information Interchange. Developed by the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the ASCII standard specifies
a 7 bit digital code for each of the 96 displayable characters on the standard
microcomputer keyboard. ASCII also specifies control characters. The full
ASCII character set is 250+.
