Pitch
The number of characters printed per horizontal inch. For example, 12 pitch
means that 12 characters are printed per horizontal inch. Pitch is applied
only to fonts with fixed spacing.
Pixel
Short for picture element. A pixel is the sm allest element of a display surface
that can be independently assig ned color or intensity. Also know n as a
dot
.
Point Siz e
The height of a character or symbol in a font. There are 72 points per inch.
This text is printed using an 11 point font.
Portrait Orientation

PostScri pt
A page description language which describes text, graphics, and page
images to the printer.
Previous Key
The printer key that scrolls backward throug h the entries within a menu. It
wraps when you reach the beginning or end of a menu. When you are
entering data, this key also cycles to the next ordin al character.
Print Engine
The non-intelligent portion of the printer/controller including the paper
feeding mechanism.
Print Med ia
Any material (such as paper and transparencies) used in t he printer for
printed output.
Print Quality
A general measure of the appearance and readability of a printed page.
Criteria of print quality include the darkness, clearness, and sharpness of
the printed page.
