Bitmap

Boot
Start up a printer or computer.
Buffer
A storage device used to compensate for a difference in r ate or sequence
of data flow when transmitting data from one device to another.
Byte
A unit of information consisting of 8 bits; the equivalent of one character.

Cancel Key
The control panel key that allows you to cancel a print job or send an end-
of-job indicator to a print job waiting for incoming data.

transmission of images. This is the protocol used by fax machines.
Clear Key
When the printer is off line and you are entering configuration changes from
the control panel, this key cl ears your entry at the current cur sor position.
When the printer is on line pressing this key cancels the current print job.
Character
An alphabetic letter, a number, or special symbol.
