Selecting the Default Language or Emulation
The system administrator chooses a defau lt language or emulation
from the control panel or from a console. (See the system administ ra-
tor's guide for additional information.) The default language is used for
print jobs when the language is not specified by the application, the
DOC %%IncludeFeature: emul ation command, or network com-
mands.
Using ESP
ESP examines each file and selects the correct language or emula-
tion for it. You can bypass ESP by selecting the appropriate language
or emulation with QMS DOC or other network commands.

Using VMS Commands
If you are connected to the printer through a DECnet network, you
can use the VMS PRINT command parameter DATA_TYPE to select
a language or emulation.
The PRINT command syntax for language/emulation selection is
$ PRINT/PARAM=(DATA_TYPE=

are ESP, POSTSCRIPT, IMPRESS,

with the name of
