MR-8 Owner’s Manual

Mixdown

After completing recording to tracks 1 through 8 and editing, let's make recording of the mixed sound to a stereo master recorder while adjusting the level balance between tracks, panning, etc. This process is called "mixdown". The MR-8 is equipped with the [DIGITAL OUT] connector, so you can make mixdown recording in digital domain to a digital recorder (DAT, MD, etc.) which accepts an S/P DIF digital signal.

2)While playing back the MR-8, rehearse mixing down the recorded sounds by adjusting the level and panning of each track, applying an effect to tracks and applying the mastering effects, etc.

The output levels from the [STEREO OUT (L, R)] connectors can be controlled by the [MASTER] fader. Adjust the levels appropriately so that the highest segments of L and R meters do not light.

See "Applying effects" on page 38 for details about applying the delay/reverb and mastering effects.

3)Adjust the recording level of the master recorder while rehearsing mixing down.

See the manual of the master recorder for details about how to adjust the recording level.
