This is a
Bus phase
The name of SCSI bus state. The SCSI bus can be either in the BUS FREE, ARBITRATION, SELECTION, RESELECTION or INFORMATION TRANSFER phase. The INFORMATION TRANSFER phase is divided into subphases such as DATA IN, DATA OUT, COMMAND, STATUS, MESSAGE IN, and MESSAGE OUT.
CDB
Command Descriptor Block
A series of data which describes commands related to input/output operations, sent from the initiator to the target.
Command
This is a command to a target to perform an input/output operation, and it is described as the CDB.
Disconnect
Operation performed by the target to free itself from the SCSI bus and the initiator temporarily when SCSI bus operation becomes unnecessary during command processing.
Initiator
This is an SCSI device which initiates input and output operations on the SCSI bus.
Message
Information that controls a series of bus phases and I/O sequence between the initiator and the target on the SCSI bus.
Logical unit
Simple unit of equipment that can be directed to perform one I/O operation on the SCSI bus.
LUN
Logical unit number used to identify a logical unit.
Reconnect
Operation performed by the target to reconnect itself with the initiator when operation on the SCSI bus becomes necessary after disconnection.
