Replacing the front fan

Tools

You need a Phillips screwdriver to replace the front fan.

To replace the front fan:

1Remove the side panel by following the instructions in “Removing the side panel” on page 31.

2Pull the front fan away from the system board, then remove it.

3Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.

Important

The location of the fan connection may vary, so make sure that you trace the fan cable from the fan to the system board.

4Connect the new fan cable to the system board, then insert the new fan into place.
