SMS

When you subscribe to PCS Vision Services, you can use your PCS Treo 300 to receive and store short text messages. These text messages are similar to e-mail messages that you receive on your computer, but are typically no more than 160 characters in length. These messages can originate from any of the following sources:

▶The PCS voicemail paging system

▶The PCS messaging website

▶An email message addressed to your mobile phone number@messaging.sprintpcs.com.

Receiving text messages

When you receive text messages, the New Messages alert appears. The buttons that appear in the alert dialog box are based on the source and content of the message.

Application 6 Tasks

In the New Messages alert dialog box, you can save or respond to the first message by tapping any of the following buttons:

OK	Saves the message in the All category, dismisses the alert dialog box,
	and returns you to the previous application.
Select	Opens a dialog box where you can choose how to respond to the
	message. The options available change based on the content of the
	message. See page 153 for details.
