Installing the Encryption Module
The Encryption Module slot supports the 7100/7200 IPSec Module. All software options associated with the card become available once the card is installed. Follow these cautions and steps when installing a module.
Caution | Always remove power from the unit prior to removing or installing a module. |
| Improper installation may result in damage to the modules. |

Instructions for Installing the Encryption Module
1Remove power from the unit.
2Remove the blank cover plate from the Encryption Module slot.
3Slide the module into the Encryption Module slot until the module is firmly seated against the chassis.
4Secure the screws at both edges of the module.
5Restore power to the unit.
6The configuration options for encryption will now be available in the GUI and the SROS CLI.
Installing a CompactFlash® Card
The Compact Flash slot supports any Type 1 CompactFlash® card (16 MB to 1 GB). Follow these instructions when installing the card.

Instructions for Installing a CompactFlash® Card
1Slide the module into the Compact Flash slot until the card is firmly seated against the chassis.
2The CompactFlash® options will now be available in the GUI and the SROS CLI.
T1/E1 Mode Dip-Switch
The ProCurve Secure Router dl 8x T1/E1 Wide Module is shipped with the T1/E1 mode switch (located on the circuit board) set to T1 (in the 1 position). If you require E1 functionality, use your thumbnail to slide the switch to the ON position (as shown in the figure below).
