Before removing the power button board, follow these steps:
1.Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.Remove the following components:
a.Service cover (see Service cover on page 48)
b.Battery (see Battery on page 50)
c.Fan (see Fan on page 77)
d.Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 62)
e.Base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 71)
f.Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 81)
Remove the power button board:
1.Disconnect the power button board cable from the power button board (1).
2.Remove the broadhead Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw that secures the board (2) to the top cover.
