Layer 2 Menu
The Layer 2 Menu contains options for port configuration, port mirroring, and port trunking.
•Port Configuration - Enables any port, enables/disables flow control, and sets communication mode to
•Mirror Port Configuration - Sets the source and target ports for mir- roring.
•Port Trunking Configuration - Specifies ports to group into aggregate trunks.
•Static Unicast Address Configuration - Used to manually configure host MAC addresses in the unicast table.
•Static Multicast Address Configuration - Used to manually configure host MAC addresses in the multicast table.
Select OK to return to the previous panel.
EtherFast® Layer 3 Management
Port Configuration
The Port Configuration screen lets you display or set communication parameters for any port on the Switch, including administrative status, auto- negotiation, default communication speed and duplex mode, as well as flow control in use.
•Port (#) - Number of the port.
•Link Status - Indicates if the port has a valid connection to an external device.
•Admin Status - Allows you to disable a port due to abnormal behavior (e.g., excessive collisions), and then
•Auto Negotiate - Enables or disables
•Default Type - If
•Current Type - Indicates the current speed and duplex mode of each port.

•Flow Control - Used to enable or disable flow control. Flow control can eliminate frame loss by “blocking” traffic from end stations or segments
