The southbridge Intel® ICH5R provides a hybrid solution that combines two independent SATA ports for support of up to two Serial ATA (Serial ATA RAID) drives and utilizes its proprietary Serial ATA RAID Software to support RAID levels 0 and 1 for easy management of the storage subsystems. Both connectors support 1st generation serial ATA data rates of 150 MB/s and are fully compliant with Serial ATA 1.0 specifications.
