User setup

The MCS 5100 user setup involvesboth the general user setup, stand-alone

user setup, and the Converged Desktop user setup.

General user setup The general user setup applies to both stand-alone

and Converged Desktop users. The general user setup involves the

following:

•Conﬁgure the user’s username as an alphanumeric address.

For example: Username = asmith

•Conﬁgure the user’s private charge ID as the UDP number.

For example: Private Charge ID = 3435573

Standalone user setup The stand-alone user setup involvesthe following:

•Do not include the CDS in the service package.

•Conﬁgure the user’s alias as the Global ID.

For example: Alias = 000023435573

Converged Desktop user setup The Converged Desktop user setup

involves the following:

•Include the CDS in the service package.

•There is no need to deﬁne the user’s "regular" alias.

•Conﬁgure the user’s CD alias as the Global ID: PNI + HLOC +

CDP number.

For example: CD Alias = 000023435573

•Conﬁgure the user’s Preferred Audio Device(PAD) as: CDP number.

For example: PAD = 35573

Translation setup

The MCS 5100 translation setup includes pretranslation setup, private

telephony routes setup, and gatewaytelephony routes setup.

Pretranslation setup Conﬁgure pretranslations to support CS

1000-to-MCS 5100 calls to do the following:

•If the CDP number qualiﬁer is received, ignore the phone-context.

For example,if number qualiﬁer="cdp.udp", leave the digits as is.

•If the UDP number qualiﬁer is received, insert 6.

For example,if number qualiﬁer="udp", inser t 6.

•If the Public/Local number qualiﬁer is received, insert 9.

For example, if number qualiﬁer="+1613", insert 9.

•If the Public/National number qualiﬁer is received, insert 91.

For example,if number qualiﬁer="+1", insert 91.
