Controlling a DVD Player, or DVD Recorder

By pressing the REMOTE MODE button that’s been programmed with the remote control code for your DVD player (Blu-ray, HD DVD, or TV/DVD combination), you can control your player with the following buttons.

The [DVD/BD] button is preprogrammed with the remote control code for controlling an Onkyo DVD player.

For details on entering a remote control code for a different component, see page 84.

The [DVD/BD] buttons are preprogrammed with the remote control code for controlling a component that

supports the *1. The component must be able to

receive remote control commands via and be connected to the AV receiver via HDMI. If controlling

your component via doesn’t work very well, program your component’s remote control code into the [DVD/BD] button and use the TV remote mode to control your component.

Sets the DVD player to On or Standby.

Set the TV to On or Standby.

cTV [INPUT] button

Selects the TV’s external inputs.

Displays a DVD’s top menu or a DVD’s title.

fArrow [q]/[w]/[e]/[r] and ENTER buttons

Used to navigate menus and select items.

gSETUP button

Used to access the DVD player’s settings.

Play [1], Pause [3], Stop [2], Fast Reverse

[5], Fast forward [4], Previous [7], and Next [6].
