When operating the VXR-5000 as a simplex
remote base, the RI-310 is designed to use digital
output bit #1 on pin 9 of the "ACC" connector to
operate the transmit/receive relay. This output is
open collector and will pull low during the transmit
cycle. Use a relay with a 12-volt coil that draws
less then 80mA. Use the following diagram for
hooking up the TX/RX relay. To set up the
controller to operate in this mode, you will need to
change System Command 92, mode 1.
Two or more RI-310 controllers can be connected together via the auxiliary connectors. You can also connect two RI-310
controllers together via this 25-pin "ACC" connector, for linking or remote base operation. Use the following connections.

VXR-5000 INTERFACE BOARD
The RI-310 has an interface board used to make connections from the RI-300 and the VXR-5000 repeater. On this board is a
DAC and some additional inputs and outputs already connected to some of the repeater's internal functions. The following is a
list of these functions. See section 17 for a detailed schematic on this interface board.
DAC Output access by S-Command 13
DAC #1 = Controls TX output power.
DAC #2 = Available, see "ACC" connector pin 9 on previous page.
Bit input accessed by S-Command 45
Input bit 09 = Battery detect signal from repeater's power supply. 1 = AC and 0 = Battery
Input bit 10 = TX Over temperature signal from repeater's power amp. 0 = Over temp
Input bit 11 = TX Unit PLL unlocked. Used by controller.
Input bit 12 = RX Unit PLL unlocked. Used by controller.
Input bit 13 = Noise squelch detect signal from RX Unit. 0 = Open squelch and 1 = Closed squelch.
Input bit 14 = Available on board but not connected to anything (U1001 Pin 4).
Input bit 15 = Available on board but not connected to anything (U1001 Pin 5).
Input bit 16 = Not available.
Bit output controlled by S-Command 46
Output bit 09 = Used to disable RX Unit squelch. Used by controller, do not modify.
Output bit 10 = RX Off, used to pad the RX antenna input. Used by controller, do not modify.
Output bit 11 = Vertex TX LED. This signal is inverted, set high to turn off the LED.
Output bit 12 = Vertex AC LED. This signal is inverted, set high to turn off the LED.
Output bit 13 = Vertex BATT LED. This signal is inverted, set high to turn off the LED.
Output bit 14 = Available on board but not connected to anything (U1002 Pin 11).
Output bit 15 = Available on board but not connected to anything (U1002 Pin 10).
Output bit 16 = Available on board but not connected to anything (U1002 Pin 9).
