S-Cmd 12 ADJUST REPEATER TRANSMITTER AUDIO LEVEL
See section 7 for additional information on the use of this command. This command is used to set the transmitter audio level by
controlling a digital pot with 64 positions (0 to 63). This command will also accept “*” up and “#” down adjustment for one
step of the digital pot. Each up or down command either increments or decrements the pot position by only one step.
SYNTAX: 12 [Level]
READ BACK: 12
STORAGE: RAM/EEPROM
PARAMETERS: Level 0-63 = Numeric pot positions (0 = Minimum value and 63 = Maximum value)
Level * = Raise pot by one step only
Level # = Lower pot by one step only
DEFAULT: RI-300 = 31, RI-310 = 09
EXAMPLE: 12* Raises pot setting by one step
12# Lowers pot setting by one step
12 15 Moves digital pot to position 15
S-Cmd 13 (DAC) Digital to Analog Converter OUTPUT
This command sets the output value of the optional Digital to Analog Converter. If the controller is used with the Vertex VXR-
5000 repeater, DAC #1 is used to control the repeater TX power level. You can assign a value of 0 to 255 to each DAC. 0 will
output zero volts and 255 will cause the DAC to output 5 volts.
SYNTAX: 13 [DAC] [Data]
READ BACK: 13 [DAC]
STORAGE: RAM/EEPROM
PARAMETERS: DAC 1 = Digital to Analog Converter 1. DAC 1 is used for VXR-5000 TX power control.
DAC 2 = Digital to Analog Converter 2.
Data 0-255 = 0 to 5 volts output
DEFAULT: DAC #1 = 128
DAC #2 = 0
EXAMPLE: 13 1 255 Set DAC #1 to 5 volts output
S-Cmd 14 USER AND S-COMMAND CTCSS/DCS TONE PANEL ENABLE
Once you have selected and set up the CTCSS tones and DCS codes that you want to use for the User and System Commands
(S-Command 20), use this command enable the User and System Command tone panels for use. The User Command tone
panel is used to select tones and codes that are required for user commands and telephone off-hook commands. The S-
Command tone panel is used to select tones and codes that are required for the password and for programming the controller (S-
Commands).
SYNTAX: 14 [Panel] [Mode]
READ BACK: 14 [Panel]
STORAGE: RAM/EEPROM
PARAMETERS: Panel 0 = Both Panels
Panel 1 = User Command: When this tone panel is enabled, a CTCSS/DCS tone or code that is decoded
by this panel will allow User Commands to be processed. These command include telephone
off hook and dial commands.
Panel 2 = System Command: When this tone panel is enabled, a CTCSS/DCS tone or code that is
decoded by this panel will allow System Commands (S-Commands) to be processed. This tone
panel also supports the unlock password
Mode 0 = Panel Disa ble: Disable or turn off the tone panel for use. This does not affect the values of the
selected tones or codes.
Mode 1 = Panel Ena ble: Enable or turn on the tone panel for use. This does not affect the values of the
selected tones or codes.
DEFAULT: All 0 (Off)
EXAMPLE: 14 0 1 Turn on both panels for use
14 1 0 Turn off the user command tone panel
